Artist Statement: [Written by @PinoyShotArt] – Sep. 24, 2020

Jordan Pastor, also known as PinoyShotArt, is a charismatic creative born in Vallejo, CA and raised in New York, NY. After picking up a pencil at the age of 6 for the first time, he is on a mission to turn his passion into a full-time career. There was just something about connecting lines and recreating his favorite anime and cartoon characters that captivated him. Mostly self-taught, PinoyShotArt, began sharing his artwork on Youtube under the moniker, “Pinoyshot95”. This is where he garnered a decent following and developed the love for teaching others what he had learned throughout endless hours of drawing. After 4 years of being a Youtube Artist, he decided to step away from art completely and began to explore his other passion: Life.

Jordan combines all of his life experiences with his love for anime & video game culture to create his artwork. Growing up in one of the most diverse cities in the world and spending every summer in a small California town really opened his eyes to the “best of both worlds” so to speak. After graduating high school, he relocated back to his hometown and obtained his BS Marketing Degree at Sacramento State University. It was during the middle of his college career where he began to feel that urge to pick the pencil up again (with the help of someone special). That’s when he discovered the beauty of Digital Art through his iPad. After reigniting the passion he drifted away from, he is now on a mission to Create. Build. & Inspire.

“As an artist, my main goal is to just create. I don’t ever worry about what other people think or say because I am the one that creates my own path. My track coach always told me ‘Never look left or right, it’ll only slow you down.’ I will always live by those words because the only competition I have in life is myself. I want to teach & show people that it’s okay to follow your dreams and have an unorthodox career path. Thank you all for reading this and joining me on my journey. It’s only up from here!”
